Mia Woezor Africa aims to become a leading educational tourism organization, connecting generations and giving thousands access to African history and culture. It seeks to foster lasting relationships that uplift the African Diaspora, benefit Africa, and positively impact humanity as a whole.
We Expect
The program aims to inspire young people to deepen their understanding of their African identity and actively support the continent’s development. It encourages participants to form lasting relationships with each other and with Africans they meet, fostering a strong sense of global community. Alumni are expected to engage in initiatives that benefit people of African descent worldwide and to elevate global conversations and actions related to Africa. As they grow into future leaders, they will continue to find support, inspiration, and collaboration from peers across the African diaspora.
Our Educational Core
The Mia Woezor Africa trip is an immersive journey through African history and modern life, guided by local peers and grounded in open dialogue on identity, politics, religion, and the Diaspora experience. Participants gain a deep understanding of their host region’s past, present, and future, while exploring the richness, potential, and challenges of African societies. The program fosters mutual exchange, encouraging participants to connect their experiences as members of the African Diaspora with those of Africans on the continent.
Our Community Impact
Our service work benefits local communities by providing tangible support, but the true impact extends far beyond material aid. Among young students, it ignites the powerful sense that they are valued and believed in, fostering hope and confidence. For us, the reward of service learning lies in witnessing the transformative effect it has on those we serve – adding meaningful value to our lives, as well as strengthening the bonds of community.
